Four tones of space in multiples is allowed on lease to provide parties to transport parcels between pairs of stations by selected trains on tender basis. Leasing of SLR space and VPU utilization attract cargo services offering quick transit and high reliability. The bulk of goods movement is designed to move in closed circuit rakes. Further the movements of rakes, especially the super intensively examined, are directly monitored closely at both divisional and headquarters levels. Augmentation of terminal facilities is the top priority. Terminals are being planned and upgraded to hold full rake capacity. Goods shed hours are extended to the extent of round the clock operations, whenever and wherever necessary.
